A 4-hour hands-on culinary experience with two of Lisbon’s most innovative chefs!
Your 4-hour culinary experience will start in the vibrant Mercado da Ribeira where the specialist fish and seafood supplier Dona Rosa will help you choose the freshest catch of the day. From there, you will head to the historical Alfama neighborhood where the famous chef Tiago Feio will be waiting for you in the 5-star kitchen of the glamorous Belmonte Palace. There, you will enjoy some tastings and learn the different techniques of fish preparation before heading to the Boi Cavalo restaurant owned by chef Hugo Brito. The renowned chef will guide you step by step through making an amazing dish you will then enjoy with organic wine pairing. Your tour will end in the Boi Cavalo restaurant.
This cooking tour is not only a feast for your senses but an unforgettable Lisbon hands-on experience.
Together with your expert guide, you will explore the lively Mercado da Ribeira where you will meet with the fish and seafood specialist Dona Rosa will help you choose in fresh fish the city’s most renowned restaurants. She will show you how to identify the best and freshest fishes while telling you about the fish culture in Portugal (did you know Portugal is the third world consumer of fish per capita after Japan and Iceland?).
Then, you will walk to a glamourous plaza where the famous chef Tiago Feio will be waiting for you. A creative chef reinventing Portuguese cuisine, chef Tiago will share with you his culinary secrets. In his 5-star kitchen, you will enjoy some tastings and learn how to handle a whole fish through different preparations.
Your tour will continue in the restaurant of chef Hugo Brito, famous for creating gastronomic delights inspired by ancient recipes and molecular techniques. With him, you will learn how to create an exquisite dish from scratch while mixing ingredients, flavors and textures.
In the end, you will indulge in your creation with organic wine pairing.
